8th grade Adulting Elective
What is happening in Mrs. Geffre's Adulting Elective Class?!
In our 8th grade Adulting elective, students completed a real-world inquiry project exploring the everyday products they use and the impact those items have on people, animals, and the environment. After selecting a product from their own lives, students researched its full lifecycle, weighed its costs and benefits, examined the societal systems that support it, and considered healthier, more sustainable alternatives. They also discussed their findings with family members to gather multiple perspectives. To share what they learned, students created creative final presentations—such as videos, artwork, dramatic performances, or TED-style talks—designed to educate and inspire others to make informed, responsible choices.
